Plot Synopsis

In this modern update on Cinderella, a prostitute and a wealthy businessman fall hard for one another, forming an unlikely pair. While on a business trip in L.A., Edward (Richard Gere), who makes a living buying and breaking up companies, picks up a hooker, Vivian (Julia Roberts), on a lark. After Edward hires Vivian to stay with him for the weekend, the two get closer, only to discover there are significant hurdles to overcome as they try to bridge the gap between their very different worlds.

Fun Facts

The director need to tickle Julia Roberts feet to get a natural laughter. Director Marshall, decided he wanted a bit more spontaneity from one early scene between Vivian(Roberts) and Edward(Gere). As Vivian lay down on the floor of Edward's penthouse watching 'I love Lucy' on the T.V, she begins laughing hysterically. This wasn't fake laughter from Julia Roberts, however-director Marshall gave her some assistance in the department. In order to get Roberts to laugh for real Marshall would tickle the actress feet while remaining just out of shot.

McFarland, USA (also known as McFarland) is a 2015 American sports drama film directed by Niki Caro, produced by Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray. The film was co-produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Mayhem Pictures. Based on the true story of a 1987 cross country team from a mainly Latino high school in McFarland, California, the film stars Kevin Costner as Jim White, the school's coach, who leads the team to win a state championship.

Plot Synopsis

Fun Facts

Coach Jim White is retired now, but if you go to McFarland, chances are you will see him out there on his bike, keeping up with the kids every evening with a lot of his original team running alongside as well. White retired in 2002 after teaching in McFarland schools for 40 years and coaching for 25 years.
